On Queen’s Land event series launched with concert
Before the concert Gyula Porga, the mayor of Veszprém, also the chief patron of On Queen’s Land programme reminded in his speech that Veszprém has won the UNESCO rank the Town of Music in 2019, moreover the county center has received this honoring title, because music is present in the everyday life of the town, many of the communities are organised around these cultural values, the Gizella Women’s Choir among others, to which organisation the mayor has congratulated.
In connection with On Queen’s Land programme Porga Gyula has emphasized that the heritage of Queen Gizella is still living here in Veszprém, but also the time has come that the wider audience discovered the values that women living in this town represent, without whom the town would be poorer and whose charm and female energy is needed for Veszprém to achieve the goals identified.
Followed by this the audience could enjoy the Gizella Women’s Choir concert, where the pieces were conducted by Borbásné Gazdag Gabriella and with the contribution of Eklekta Music Band, into which concert the audience was also involved with common singing to the extent of some folk songs.
